1. About Us

These terms apply to all roofing services we provide and to your use of this website. Harbourside Roofing Co. is based at 12A March St, Bellevue Hill NSW 2023, Australia.

In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Harbourside Roofing Co. “You” and “your” mean the customer or website visitor. By requesting a quote, booking work or using this website, you agree to these terms.

2. Our Services

We provide roofing services for residential and commercial customers across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and nearby areas, including:

  • Roof repairs and leak detection
  • Roof restoration and repainting
  • Terracotta and concrete tile roofing
  • Colorbond and metal roofing
  • Re-roofing and roof replacement
  • Gutters, downpipes and fascia

Some jobs outside our usual area may be accepted at our discretion.

3. Quotes and Estimates

  • Quotes are free and carry no obligation.
  • Each quote is a price for the work described in it and is valid for the period stated on the quote.
  • A quote is based on the information you give us and what we can see at the time of inspection. Roofs often hide problems such as rotten battens, damaged sarking, hidden leaks or deteriorated flashings.
  • If we find extra work is needed once the job starts, we will stop, explain it and give you a price for it. We will not carry out or charge for additional work without your agreement.
  • Any variation to the original quote should be confirmed in writing (text or email is fine).

4. Booking and Acceptance

A contract is formed when you accept our quote, in writing or verbally, and we confirm a start date. We will agree a start date and estimated duration with you. If you need to change the date, please give us as much notice as possible.

5. Cancellation

If you want to cancel after accepting a quote, please tell us as soon as possible by phone or in writing. If work has started, we may charge for work completed, materials ordered or delivered, and any special-order items that cannot be returned. Nothing in this section limits any cooling-off or cancellation rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

6. Prices and Payment

  • All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD). Your quote will state whether GST is included.
  • Payment terms will be set out in your quote. Unless agreed otherwise, smaller jobs are payable on completion, and larger jobs may require a deposit before materials are ordered, with the balance due on completion.
  • Accepted payment methods will be confirmed when we issue your quote.
  • If an invoice is not paid on time, we may take reasonable steps to recover the amount owing.
  • Materials remain our property until paid for in full, to the extent the law allows.

7. Access, Site Conditions and Weather

  • You must give us safe and reasonable access to the property and a suitable area for materials and equipment.
  • Please keep pets and children away from the work area and move vehicles if we ask.
  • Please tell us about hazards such as asbestos, overhead power lines, skylights, shared boundaries or strata restrictions before work starts.
  • If you rent your property or live in a strata scheme, you are responsible for getting any permission needed from the owner or owners corporation.
  • Roofing work depends on the weather. We may need to delay or pause work in rain, storms, strong winds or unsafe conditions. We will keep you informed and rebook as soon as practical.
  • Some work may need council approval or other permits. Unless agreed in writing, you are responsible for checking and obtaining these.

8. Materials

We use materials suited to your property, such as terracotta and concrete tiles, Colorbond and other metal sheeting, sarking, flashings, gutters, sealants and roof coatings. Where we cannot obtain a specified material, we may substitute a product of equal or better quality, and we will tell you first. Tiles, metal sheeting and coatings can vary in colour and finish from samples. This is normal.

9. Workmanship Warranty

  • Our work is warranted for workmanship. The warranty period for each job will be stated on your quote or invoice.
  • The warranty covers faults caused by our workmanship. It does not cover damage caused by storms, hail, accidents, falling trees or branches, structural movement or foot traffic on the roof after completion, problems caused by other people’s work or by existing defects we told you about, normal wear and tear or lack of reasonable maintenance, or work that has not been paid for in full.
  • Materials are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty where one is offered.
  • If you find a problem, please contact us promptly so we can inspect it and put it right.

This warranty does not exclude or limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantee that services will be provided with due care and skill.

10. Licence and Insurance

If you would like details of our licence and insurance cover for your job, please ask us before work begins.

11. Our Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for:

  • Loss or damage that could not reasonably have been expected when the contract was made
  • Damage caused by pre-existing defects or hidden conditions we could not reasonably have discovered
  • Loss of profit or business interruption (for business customers)
  • Delays caused by matters outside our reasonable control, including weather, supply shortages or restricted access

12. Complaints

We want to put things right. If you are unhappy, please contact us as soon as possible, describe the issue and give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and fix it. We will acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to resolve them fairly.

13. Photographs

We may take photographs of completed work for our records and for use on our website and social media. We will not include your name or address without your permission. If you would prefer we do not use photographs of your property, please tell us before work begins.

14. Website Use

The content on this website, including text, images and logos, belongs to Harbourside Roofing Co. and must not be copied or reused without our written permission. We aim to keep the website accurate, but it is for general information and does not form an offer. Prices, availability and service details may change. We are not responsible for the content of external websites we link to, such as Google Maps.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you accept a quote applies to that job.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of New South Wales have jurisdiction.
